Activities in a winery
The wine tasting contests
- Package 1 "Varieties of grapes and vintages"
The goal is to recognise the different varieties of grapes or different vintages of the wines. Explanations provided by the winemaker.
- Package 2 "Blind tasting"
Tastes and colours – try to identify a white wine, a rosé and a red wine served in perfectly black opaque glasses.
- Package 3 "Informal wine tasting bar"
3 to 4 wines will be available for tasting at a bar. With simple but yet precise words, either the winemaker or the oenologist will approach the basic techniques of wine tasting and will present each wine. Everyone is invited to discuss the presented wines, knowing that the second part of the activity will consist in re-tasting the same wines, blinded, and try to recognize the variety of grapes of each wine. Besides its instructive approach, the wine tasting bar allows the guest to sip a glass of wine e.g. with appetizers.
- Package 4 « Wine aromas"
From the game “le Nez du Vin” (The Wine Nose) of Jean Lenoir, your guests will have to try and guess which family the fragrances belong to (fruity, floral, vegetal, or animal). Approx. 10 aromas to recognize.
- Wine tasting on a particular theme
Presentation of wines from a winery that harmoniously merge with other products (chocolates, cheese, tapas, sushi) or gourmet bites. The craftsmen or caterers will be present at the winery. The tasting will take place in small ”workshops” followed by a convivial moment of discussion.
- Contest on the winemaker’s activities
In the winemaker museum, unique in this region, you will participate in a contest where you will have to recognise various utensils and objects which are used for the cultivation of the vines or in the wine making.
- Participation in the grape harvest
Only during the grape harvest period (September and October)
Enjoy the unique atmosphere of harvesting the grapes in company of the winemaker and his family. Picking of grapes in company of a traditional team of grape-pickers. Explanations on the delivery of the grapes at the winery and on the thorough process from the grape to the bottle.
- The bottling workshop
Following the winemaker’s explanations, you will bottle the wine, participate in the labelling of your own bottles (personalised labels) and leave with your own box of 3 bottles.
- Make your own wine !
The challenge is to create your own wine blend and outclass the others! Make the most of the raw materials given to you, blend your wine, and create your label… We leave it to you to find the combination that will make your creation the best blended wine!
- The casino of wines
The passion of the game meets the passion of wine ! The Route du Vignoble offers you a unique, dynamic and prestigious evening, a possibility to play on real casino tables, transformed in game-tasting tables. Following the rules of casino evenings, the participants will have to gamble with their luck in a wine atmosphere. To end the event they will participate in a false auction and will be able to buy, with the tokens they have won, various batches conceived by the winemaker himself.
- The theater show
What if you found a different way of discovering wines? How about sharing the experience of discovery in a more inventive way? In short, how about giving more imagination to your wine tasting guests? The aim is not just to transfer the usual vocabulary of professional tasters and wine connoisseurs to these actors’ speech, but to evoke pleasant sensations, memories and adventures.
- The Quiz
During the aperitif the guests will work on an amusing quiz of about 20 questions and will thus improve their knowledge of the local culture of the surrounding villages and their wines.
